The challenge
AKG Commerce needed to bring the complete retail shopping and back-office experience into one bilingual platform for customers and internal staff in the Saudi and GCC market.
The challenge was not only to provide an online product catalogue, but also to connect customer shopping journeys with catalogue management, inventory, orders, branch operations, refunds, reporting and customer-service workflows.
- Support both English and Arabic with proper LTR and RTL interfaces.
- Manage nested categories, brands, products, product groups and physical branches.
- Give customers search, filters, wishlists, browsing history, address management and order history.
- Support guest carts and preserve them when customers later register or log in.
- Manage orders through multiple fulfilment states from pending to delivered, returned or cancelled.
- Provide administrative control over customers, orders, refunds and store-credit balances.
- Support delivery options including standard delivery, fast delivery and in-store pickup.
- Allow business users to manage translations without requiring a code deployment.
What we built
AKG Commerce was developed as a unified Laravel 9 e-commerce platform combining a server-rendered customer storefront with a Vue 3 administrative back office. The system provides a complete bilingual shopping and management experience, covering product discovery, checkout, order operations, refunds, reporting, and content translation from a single platform.
